Since joining this blog, I have been checking out Korean newspapers and Asian American journals. I’d never done that in the past. I do think it’s interesting to compare foreign journalism to the U.S. media. In some ways it’s not that different…they talk about entertainment, government, Iraq, etc… and the headline is generally the latest scandal. However, what I’m always amazed at is the greater reporting on the world.
In the U.S. Media, we hear about things here on the home front and we hear about how other things affect the home front. In foreign media, I am also made aware of what’s happening in the world.
Anyhow, here are a couple of articles about Korea – nothing too heavy – just some things I found interesting.

Korea to Enact Law against Biracial Prejudice
SPONSOR
This one is hopeful. It definitely shows a step in the right direction. Deep rooted prejudice against biracial people in Korea has been something that I worry about. While Korea makes great strides in some places, in this situation they are behind in the civil rights category. I try to remind myself that Korea is fighting a much older culture than we are here in the United States.
