1. I wrote “
In Korean American News” today on my personal blog. Everywhere I’ve turned, Virginia Tech has been the prominent story and in big bold letters “South Korean” starts the story. I know what I’ve been thinking, but I wondered what the Korean American media was thinking, so I checked it out and added some of my own thoughts too.
2. Jan Baker on the
Adoption Search blog wrote a post about Korean Focus. Korean Focus is a very interesting organization that I take a look at every once in awhile. Of course, this particular post is leaning towards the search and reunion part of their organization. Because this is something that I have not spent a lot of time on, I am grateful for Jan’s research and much greater knowledge on the subject.
3. Also from Jan is a post about someone just like me (
an adoptee and an adoptee’s mother). Jan enjoys her insights on birth mothers. I enjoy this blog in general.
Heart, Mind and Seoul is one of the sites that I have bookmarked for regular visits. I enjoy her writing (even when I don’t agree). As a Korean adoptee and an adoptive parent, she helps me clarify some of my thoughts every once in awhile.

4. Over on Twice the Rice, I always find a different perspective. In her most recent post,
Naming, Renaming and Reclaiming, I was once again in the position of disagreeing with some of what Ji-in had to say. Of course, I also understood her side of the story a little too. After all, I have not had some of the experiences that Ji-in has had. My problems with my name have generally been minor annoyances. Coupled with the fact that I enjoy the shock that my name and face combination bring, I don’t mind being renamed. I’ll have to see what my son thinks when he gets a little older.
