Korean Adoptee Book Review (kind of)

This is a “kind of” book review because I know nothing about this series, but someone sent it to me so I thought I’d pass it on. One of the main characters of this series is Avery (a Korean adoptee). I played around on their site a little and it looks pretty neat - the kind of thing that I would have liked before I started seventh grade.

I was always pleased when I found an Asian character in my books, but to find a Korean adoptee would have pretty exciting. I tried to read one of the chapters, but my computer was not letting me open them for some reason. I hope you have better luck.

Anyhow, the site is jazzy and full of the latest buzz words. The best part is that there is not only a Korean adoptee, but there are also several other important groups represented. One is Mexican, one has dyslexia, one is Black American, and the other has lived all over the world.

I see potential and it would be great if the series could stick around. I was so thrilled when I was that age with the Babysitters series because there was a main character of Japanese descent in those books. It’s such an interesting age group (the 9-13 girls) with puberty and other chemical imbalances that anything has to help – right?

Don’t forget to let me know if you’re able to read a chapter and let me know what they are like. I doubt we’re going to see the next great American novel, but who really cares. I don’t read my romances or fantasy books for literary quality. It’s purely for the entertainment factor.
