To me (just my feeling) it is just too important a day to not celebrate it at all. We take our kids' pictures in the same place every year and send the pictures to their foster moms and birth moms. As they get older we'll see if they want to continue that. In general we will try to let our kids take the lead in how they want to remember the day. I think it is nice to celebrate as a family.
