Here is one of those times where the western cultures are definitely not a good influence. I’ve read so many articles about the healthful nature of Korean food. Kimchi is supposed to be able to cure just about anything. Traditional Korean food is not fried and uses a lot of the vegetables with very important properties. There is an emphasis on various spices and less emphasis on salt.

Diabetes In Asia
Diabetes is on the rise in South Korea and the other Asian nations. According to the article that I found on the CBC, it’s not only rising…it’s rising faster.
Asians are also affected at a younger age, 45 to 64, compared to over 65 in Europe and North America.
Someone once told me that Asians seem so much healthier than our Caucasian counterparts, but this study proves that we are only as healthy as what we eat. Genetics can not save us here.
Changes in behavior, such as the adoption of a fatty, sugary fast-food diet and a sedentary lifestyle spent plopped in front of TV and computer screens is to blame, the study's authors said.

Diabetes is also hitting Asians with a lower body mass index compared with people of European descent of the same age and sex. Asian women in particular have a higher proportion of body fat that also tends to be stored around the abdomen compared with Europeans.
Pass the carrots, please.
