Chuesok is the Korean Harvest Moon festival. This holiday is scheduled on the lunar calendar so it will fall on a different day each year. In particular Cheusok is the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar; however, the day on either side is also celebrated. It is supposed to be a lot like the U.S. Thanksgiving, but with gifts and special games.

Someone sent me some great sites if you are interested about learning more.

Link: How to Set Up a Ritual Table

You have to check out this link for the pictures. It looks absolutely beautiful, but way over my head. I don’t even like opening up the microwave and putting in a frozen dinner. The thought of preparing something like the Ritual Table is a little scary.

I enjoyed watching this one just for general enjoyment, but if you watch up through the first 3 minutes and 30 seconds, you can see a traditional ritual ceremony.

I hope you enjoy the information. I had some trouble finding a lot of information on-line. You can find information, but I was looking for some information that I would feel okay using in a term paper – solid academics and I fell a little short.
